Hello
New to the site, am up in Calgary Alberta Canada. I need your opinions on a new machine. Looking at a new litre bike 2005 or 2006 GSXR1000 - R1 - ZX10 - CBR1000. I am about 6'4 and 240 lbs. Currently riding a 1997 ZX7. What are the big and tall guys riding and what do you think of your ride.

Damn if your that tall that ZX-7 must be brutal! I ride a 1998 and 2004 R1, I love them both, power and handling are excellent. They are also a little roomier than your Kawasaki. The ZX-10 you are considering is FAST.....the CBR1000 is a slug compared to the other three, as for the GSXR 1000, IN MY OPINION, it handles a little funny for my own riding style and it's so damn ugly!!!! Just my opinion.... If your that tall and want a larger ride have you considered a HAYABUSA, it's not much of a track bike but it works great on the street.

Thanks for the input, I have to admit the 2006 R1 sure is nice and right now I think it will be the one in the garage in the spring. Hayabusa HuH ! not so sure I like the looks, but I have to admit having two wheels with that kind of power that has comfort as well sure makes you think. What is the genral opinion of the bike on the street.

Depends on the shape you are in. I'm 6'4 200 lbs and fold onto a Duc 998 and CBR1000RR just fine. If you're looking for the roomiest of litre bikes I hear the R1 is the least cramped. Recognizing the vast majority of sport bikes never see a track, and if the road is the destination for you, give the GT bikes like the Busa, ZX-12, or XX Blackbird a good look. Much more room, including the legs. The BMW K1200S is a sweet bike as well. Outstanding tall person ergos.
