can the testastretta in the 999R rev beyond 10,000 rpm? how far do u think it can go? can it rev as high as F1 cars, since it has no valve springs?

Good question.... I don't think Ducati marks red line on their bikes... I'd guess it'll spin up to 11k before the limiter kicks in. And it does so harshly from what I've read. I think the Superbikes rev to 13 or 14k, so no it won't rev as high as an F1 car. Not even MotoGP bikes rev as high as F1 cars. They might next year when F1 limits rpm to 15 or 16 k....

I'd second that guess of 11k. Supposed the new 2006 R6's fuel cutoff is at 18k, according to the tach which very well maybe off...seems to be like they usually are near redline.

Yep, 11K for the 999R with the race-kit ECU. 10,750 for the stock 999R and 10,250 for the 999. Those are the numbers we got on the dyno.
