Im not sure if they do this for bikes but when i got insurance for my truck i got a $50,000 life insurance policy which was like $15 a month and it lowered my insurance payments like $30. I do know if you have 2 cars with State Farm that will significantly drop your insurance rates.

I don't know about anyone else's experiences, but I personally go through Progressive. I'm 23 with an 01 Ninja 500 and my insurance is $630 a year. I think it also depends on where you live cause around here we can only ride a couple months out of the year and they take that into account. My car insurance is through Metlife. I would suggest you try either of those. I also know that with some of the other companies out there, that they won't insure your bike unless you have you car insured with them. This is not the case with Progressive. Give them a try!

Insure it under a woman, and add yourself as alternate driver.

My buddy tried to insure his Kawasaki R6 and it was $600, his girlfriend put it under her name for $182.

If your girlfriend is your left hand, try using your mom.

Don't call what you don't understand "fraud".

For "most" insurance companies you insure the vehicle, not the person.  I believe the limit is people "in your household" so have your wife, or mother insure the bike, and list you as an alternate driver.

Yah Kawasaki 6R.  Thanks for the typo correction, you win!

What I don't understand? I happen to be a insurance agent and have been for 11yrs! So I do have a "little" understanding of the way things work, any other sarcastic comments? For the record, insurance laws from state to state vary greatly, however go ahead and do what you've suggested, let the underwriter or the company itself find out about it and BAM you are canceled and it wouldn't matter what state you live in. Listing the wrong driver as "primary" IS in fact fraud, just as it is if you don't happen to disclose that your mother or girlfriend don't happen to live at the same address.

I can go on and on.......but I won't!
