The new R6 I think is going to be the bike to beat this year in the middle weight class. Yamaha seems to have gotten sick of losing to Kawi on the race track. No we get to see some MotoGp engineering in a production bike. We'll see how they all stack up once they hit showroom floors though, and next race season. I can't wait. The problem with suzuki is just the lack of difference between their bikes. It might be cool that they do that to some people, but I think a variance in the bikes might show some more creative thinking , and credibility to their R&D department.

I voted for the R6, but I think the GSXR600 will beat up on the Kawi and Honda. I can't imagine Suzuki being too thrilled for the past 3 years with their 600 against the competition, but I think the Yamaha tops them ever so slightly this year.

I'm anxious to see how much power the R6 makes. 17.5k redline? Are you kidding me? Probably means that the mid-range will be weak but you'll have a whole lotta revs to play with which will probably help a lot on the track. I'm guessing maybe 115whp...

I'd guess around 115 rwhp too for the new R6. The '06 GSXR600 redlines at 16k, saw a photo from a brochure online.

Are we talking street bike or racing? Of the 2, I'd pick the GSXR for the street, but the R6 if I was going racing.... The new R6 is definitely the best looking new bike this year.
With DiSalvo and EBoz riding the new R6 in Formula Extreme, Honda's days of dominating that class are over.

I definately have to agree that the Yamaha will most likely be up front a whole lot this next season, but I can't abandon my Honda loyalty. And just wait, you know brand new Honda and Kawasaki 600s will be right around the corner for 2007. And Yamaha seems to have definitely set a new standard this year, I cannot wait to see what Kawi and Honda have in store for 2007.
