I think the R1 is beatiful... but the r6 looks terrible. I guess thats why YAMAHA made the r6s.

love the yellow paint scheme. i think the r6 looks way better now. except the tail. i like the metal bracket holding the liscence and signals but its still to bulky. clean that up and get it to look more like a f1 wing. maybe but the plate under the tail and get smaller signals for the metal bracket. and the tail itself looks a bit on the small side. but other than that it looks good. the r1 didnt change appearance wise. but that paint scheme is killer

I'm surprised they didn't relax the ergos a bit with the R6S, looks like it's they kept everything but the '05 front forks/brakes.  The new R6 has titanium valves, and motorcycledaily.com is reporting it has a new redline of 17,500rpms!!!  I think the new R6 looks good, better...i dunno I'll have to see it in person first.  And that R1 LE looks like it's gonna be the bike to have this year, wonder what the price is gonna be on it?  New Ohlines replacement forks are atleast $2k, shock $1k (right?  also plus whatever the difference in price is on those wheels)...minus whatever last years R1 OEM forks and shock costs, minus some good bulk pricing and factor in yamaha owning Ohlins...who knows.  I've been saying for the last few years Yamaha should use some "cheap" Ohlins bits on their bikes since they own 'em.

im a kawi fan. but i think yamaha is gonna be the team to beat this year....again. the r1 is hands down the best looking litre bike. added with the new paint scheme and ohlins parts stock. also it seems that motorcycledaily has info on kawi bikes. like the new 650r which theyre using to go after the sv650/s sales. all in all i think 06 is gonna be an interesting year in the open class

motorcycleusa.com had a write up on the R6, said Yamaha wasnt too happy with the ZX6RR besting their R6 in racing...which maybe part of the reason they added a slipper clutch and raised the redline from 15.5k to 17.5k (zx6rr has a slipper clutch and a redline of 16,500, dunno about the race bike's redline?).

like i said im a kawi fan. and espacialy a hayden bros fan. but i think the new r6 is gonna take the championship this year. it seems like thats what they made there goal for. to take back the lead from the zx6rr.

Looks really nice.  I wonder how many Yamaha are going to make.  I would guess the LE is going to be 3 or 4 thousand more than the standard version.  Isn't that about the price differance between the Aprillia RSV and Factory??  I really like the looks of the new R6.  The black is really sharp.  And the exhaust isn't GSXR-K5 ugly.  And a 17,500 rpm red line!!  Wow.  I can't wait to hear a sound clip.    How much $$? And how is it geared?  I think the ZX-6RR turns 7k rpm at 70 mph.

They say the '06 R6 is geared slightly taller than the '05s but a lot of magazines said in their '05 supersport comparisons that part of the reasons why the '05 R6 had good drive out of the corners/midrange is that it had shorter gearing than the 600RR/ZX6R/GSXR600.  So maybe the '06 R6's gearing won't be taller than the competition.

Well to answer one of my own questions....  At www.roadracingworld.com they say that Yamaha is going to import 500 of the R1 LEs.  Expect the price to match the limited quantity.....

I read that 500 number somewhere else too.  I wonder how many "ravens" they sold in '04 compared to blues/reds or how many repsol 1000RRs were sold?

The R1 LE looks beatuiful.  Glad I already ride a silver one.  My q' would be the price too.  Wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 15k or more.  Also I like the look of the new R6.  The only thing I don't like is that long a$$ mid faring.  The stubby pipe looks pretty sweet.  Go yamaha.

WOW in my opinion the stubby tailpipe takes away from the looks of the already beautiful r6. I think YAMAHA tried too hard.
