Did you guys see the Motegi race? Rossi torpedoed Marco Melandri. You know, 2 years ago Makoto Tamada got a "rough riding" penalty for doing the same to Gibernau--and I think it was the SAME CORNER.
So who thinks Rossi needs to get some points docked?
Rossi is the best motorcyclist in the world, but he's becoming a danger the rest of the riders when he starts using them as berms!
In other news--rumor has it that Rossi will be a TEST DRIVER for Ferrari Formula 1 car next year, with possibly a contract to drive full-time in 2007!!!
Maybe he can turn the Ferrari/Bridgestone nightmare around...

Didn't see the race. Don't have cable. Impossible to view anywhere else now that football season is here. I keep good tabs on the Moto Gp from their website. Jorge Lorenzo is getting DQ'ed out of the next race when he took out another riding in a close resemblance to the Rossi incident. They might take some action, but race directors have already dismissed the protest from HRC. Even if they dock points someone will have to beat Rossi by 4 points I believe. The closest to to him is Max Biaggi, and he is still some 112 points down with only 5 races left. He would have to get first in all of them and Rossi not finish any races to win. Don't see that happening. Also Edwards does need to step it up. He looked so good at Holland and Laguna Seca(which I got to see in person). He will come around. Hayden needs to get more podiums as well to stay in the top five. I like Rossi a lot, but I love to root for the American Riders. Seeing Hayden and Edwards dominate at Laguna Seca was awsome. Hopefully the next five GP's show more promise for them.

Rossi made a boo boo and he was apologetic about it.
Aside from hard passing on Gibernau, how is Rossi becoming a danger to the rest of the field?
Even The Doctor can eff up an operation every now and again. Last crash during a race- Qatar, last season. Almost a year ago.

yea i agree. it looked like rossi was just breaking later than mal. and mal also turned in sooner and they were too close. everybody messes up. but even i found it disappointing to see rossi crash out. also zy rossi has talked to a few mags about the ferrari rummor. and hes said, and this is the terms he used that the rumor about him gonna be driving for 2007 in the ferrari car is "bull sh!t" if anything its just test driving.

I still can't believe he pushed his luck like that...he could have finished 4th and taken the Championship in points but i guess that's his will to win coming in to play

Because of his hairball antics. Motorcycle racing is not like car racing where you bump someone and just scratch off some paint or put a dent in their bodywork--you can seriously injure someone and possibly take them out of the entire season.
Don't get me wrong--I like Rossi and I think he's a motorcycle god, but if he keeps doing these things like he did to Gibernau, he's going to start looking like a prick to the rest of the paddock and press.

yea i understand that. but to me it didnt look intentional. and after rossi got up one of the first things he did was went to check mal out and see if he was ok. so to me he looked pretty concerned about him and knew the crash was his fault. and like you said this isnt like car racing if it was though he probably would have spun mal around. and with him having the chance to take the championship that race i doubt it was intentional. im glad though rossi didnt get hurt cause last week i had said i hoped something happened to rossi at motegi. and it did (like i had something to do with it lol) but i still feel bad. but racing is racing. no one got killed. and it was a very good race. im a lil disappointed in haydens performance though. if it werent for so many people crashing out he would have been below 9th and not finished in 7th.

"Rossi is the best motorcyclist in the world..."
I disagreee, Rossi is the best in Moto GP. The rest of the
Moto GP field would be hard pressed to place in the AMA or
WSBK.
Still, Rossi is damn good on a bike and this 'racing inci-
dent' is just that- no points should be deducted.

i would have to seriously disagree. most of these guys in motogp are former wsbk and ama sbk champions. you're saying that nicky hayden couldnt come back, get honda some development and place well in ama superbike? he won a championship there not too long ago, same with collin edwards. yes now there are new riders in those series that could pose a threat. as for the accident, and rossi's statement, yes they were running completly different lines the entire race. its not like he did it purposely, he had nothing to gain. like they said before the race, melandri and biagi combined didnt have as many points as rossi has. biagi and melandri really pose no threat to him, and now only biagi is "mathmatically" in contention to the championship. i thought if anything marco's line was a little drastic. but considering capi's lines he might of had the right thought. rossi was taking the same kind of line biagi was taking as well. had it been biagi there wouldnt be a huge debate (and biagi nealy took out capi and melandri once or twice running really hot into turns) did i mention that it was a great race? funny as hell to watch sete's horrific season continue its downfall.... guess rossi was right when he said gibernau would nver win a race again....

lol i agree it was a great race. and watching sete be one of the first to crash out and do poorly yet again was a thrill. i disagree that the moto gp grid would be hard pressed in ama or wsbk. they wouldnt be instant champions but theyd deffinatly show the new riders a thing or two

Speaking of i still think Mat Mladin should step up to WSBK...and maybe even the GP if he felt so inclined...i think he's made his mark in AMA
