Hey, Im looking to by my first bike, Im think SV650, but I love the look of Kaw er6f & er6n or whatever its called.  I asked about it at a dealership (that carried every major brand except for Kaw) and he told me that Kaw was not going to sell that bike in North America. Can anyone tell me anything about that bike, like when/where it will be sold and how much it will be. I heard that the dealer show will be next month, I really wanna go, but unfortunately I cant get in because I dont work in a dealership, but I do get to go to the Parts dealer show because I work at a parts shop

It's on the Kawasaki US website as the Ninja 650R, so yes, it's being imported here.

thanks for the response.  Damn that R probably makes a big difference in Insurance prices.  How do you guys think this bike will compare to the SV650, insurance cost wise?

the ninja 500r wasnt that expensive. the 650 will be the same cause its only a 650 twin cyl. not a i4. and its still a learner bike in a sense. so i wouldnt expect it to be much more than the 500r.

MSRP on the Kaw website states 6300. To me, thats seems a bit pricey for an I-twin.

it is. but its supposed to have a pretty decent suspension. and is probably up to par or close to performance with the sv650s. engine wise. maybe better suspension wise. well have to wait and see.

I wouldnt turn my head away from it. It's a good looking machine. Interesting looking rear suspention. I can't wait until it arrives at the dealership. I will take a test ride.
I have been wanting an SV with fairings. This may be an alternative. To me (my opinion only) Kaw needed to upgrade the forks, triple clamps and bars on the EX models. They carried the R desination. But the were set up more like a 600e. Bars on risers above the triple clamp. In short, very difficult to lower riding position with clip-ons.
I bet you could get one for lower than the MSRP on the www page.

yea theres a place in la that sells most bikes for msrp otd. la bargain cycles i think. r6s are like 9400. but 636s and gixxer 600s are 8300 otd. hondas somewhere in between. but deffinatly gonna add some style for those newbs instead of them having to buy a ugly 500r. like seriously if they made 250s that looked exactly like 600s and 1000s noobs would buy them and be safer. i still think most people base there bikes on looks. and looks and performance seem to go hand in hand unfortunatly.
