What kind of situation- garage, carport, street parking?
Things to remember are:
#1 cover your bike with a bike cover (Dowco has some good indoor and outdoor covers). Denying prying eyes goes a long way towards protecting your ride.
#2 secure it to something solid and immovable with a good lock. This should discourage casual theives.
#3 be aware of the security threat where you park it and don't leave it for extended periods.
#4 if a professional wants your bike, short of storing it in a secured garage, not much you can do about it. That's what good comprehensive coverage insurance?

Redundant security systems- the purpose of which is to in-
crease the amount of time and effort it takes to steal your
machine.
Alarms
Disc locks
Cable locks

And Please Please Please, if you use a disk lock...remember to remove it prior to riding. Yeah...I did it...but only once!

Use the Scorpio alarm...you get all sorts of cool features like GPS tracking, on the chance it does get stolen you can stop the engine...it's worth checking out my buddy has one
