Thanx for explaining that to me "J" I knew from kawasaki's history that they have been the technology leader in bikes. All others followed especiallly SUZUKI Quote:
All others followed especially SUZUKI So now the ZX-14 is not ZX-14R for race. Is it a Hyper Sport Cruiser like the aging LUSA I mean BUSA

Their you have it Spyke the bike to like is the new ZX-14 on the seen. JournyMan has schooled us on the history of Kawasaki. And you can bet the Spec will be the best none the less. Planes, Trains, and Cranes Baby Baby!!!!
Now I see why Kawasaki has been Untouchable.

Dude, my reply was to Pipsy. See the "Re:xxxxx" in the
upper right of every post to a thread?
Damn, no-wonder some of you dudes wig when a person posts
a reply to a thread.
The ZX-14 does not have the 'R' designation- with-out it
is not a real 'Ninja' but in fact a ZZR. Not a copy of the
'Busa', but since the 'Busa' has always out-sold the 12R...
Kawasaki has a very loyal, but small market share with the
12R- the research must have shown that this was not sustain-
able and bottom-line not profitable.

The EX500 doesn't have an "R" suffix, yet it has "Ninja" plastered all over its body panels... The lack of an "R" suffix means that Kawasaki is not intending the ZX-14 to be a "Supersport" model. They'd rather it be considered something less radical, so that they don't have a repeat of the '99 Paris Show scandal, where French officials threatened to ban the 12R's sale in France because they considered it "too powerful and dangerous".

Um, yeah, I'd say sinking millions into the R&D for a bike that then was recalled before shipping so that they could fit a speed-limiter into the bikes on the docks (costing more *** due to the French government scare, then selling a handful each year would be deemed "not sustainable and bottom-line not profitable". The reason for the ZX-14 is because Kawasaki wants to take the "Fastest, Most Powerful Motorcycle" title back, but in a much stealthier way than when the 12R debuted to massive hype about its top speed and power, which caught the attention of French officials.

I'm a die-hard Kawasaki fan and have been ever since I bought a brand new Ninja 600R back in 1986. Finally Kawi has built something worthy of trading in my trusty old ZX-11 in for. Personally, I think the styling is ok, (not great) but definitely better than the Busa's styling. My predictions, for what they're worth, are for 180 rear wheel horspower, 105 rear wheel ft/lbs of torque and 9.5-9.6's in the quarter. I think this bike is gonna surprise a lot of people.

The head lights look sweeeeeet! But son of a *** I could sleep in that hole in the front end. The rear kinda reminds me of the old ZX-11.
