Would anything make you consider not riding?

Nothing that I can conceivably think of at this time.
There are few things on this Earth that can give the same feelings that riding a motorcycle can.

Yeah I know--it's hard to describe. Is it the speed, power, control, the elegant simplicity of only two wheels? Is it all of these things combined? Is it the feeling of flying or freedom?
I crashed once really bad and said I was never going to ride again. Three months later I had a new bike.

All street crashes?
Nah, I wouldn't call it stupid. Maybe lucky but not stupid.

Ok, first one was a highside on a ZX 6e in 1997, Second one was on a 2002 Triumph TT600, lady in a suv didnt know what those big red STOP signs mean, and pulled out in front of me, and the recent crash was the Daytona pictured in the photos of your bike thread.

First one low side. Second one endoed and got a broken collar bone. Just happened on monday. Still going to get on once healed and repairs are made. The fun factor out weighs the risk.

I guess just as Tevo intimated, there's just no other feeling. I had an accident over the weekend and had to promise the girlfriend that I wouldn't ride until after the wedding(next month), but I'd sneak a ride during the reception if I could.

Maybe if they out lawed everything but cruisers. Then I'd get a Camaro or a Mustang....

probably if my woman told me she would leave me. no one else would deal with the [censored] that i give her and no one else could take care of me. but then we'd talk it over and i would be able to ride again. besides i would be home a whole lot more if i wasnt riding.

I stepped into a pothole once while on a RD400. It's amazing how much weight you can lift when 50 people are staring at you. I ran over a open manhole in 1993 on an FZR400 Rain had pushed it off from below. I got bruised up pretty bad after I hit the curb and landed in the grass. I highsided my GSXR 750 in 1996 resulted in Breaking my Jaw in 3 places. I lost 7 teeth. Fractured my Orbital bone (around my right eye) in 5 places. Fractured my forehead. (yes I was wearing a helmet) Broke my left foot in two places. Lowsided in 1999 on an RZ350 two blocks from my house..bruised ribs, I was wearing no gloves and destroyed my hands Lowsided the other day on my GSXR600...hurt my feelings.
What can I say. Call me stupid. I love to ride. As soon as my foot and shoulder feel better. I will be back in the twisties. People that don't ride just can't understand I hate when people ask me if I ride a motorcycle. I say yes. Then, they say "Those things are dangerous" Really, my sister died of cancer at 38. Seems to me, life is dangerous. Why not have some fun..

My bike was stolen in 2004, had to stop riding for a month waiting on the insurance company to cut a check. That was the longest month in the history of the world as far as I'm concerned. Broke my femur in 2000, but it was fall and the bike had to be put away for winter so that wasn't as bad. Took twelve weeks to heal. Those are the only things to make me stop riding to date.
