They ruined this bike.  The front looks terrible and the exhaust is a joke.  The added flywheel mass will tame the power delivery (who wants that?)

Kawasaki sure did screw up this time.  Keep your '04s and '05s.

I'll wait until I see it in the flesh.  But with looks like that, it better have about 30 more hp than the '04/'05 version.

Man, I sure hope those are photoshops and not the real thing...

Nope.  It's the real deal.  Here's better pictures.

Good news is that it appears to retain the easy-to-read-tach.

I don't think it has a bunch more power.  If anything, it appears that they tried to soften the power delivery with added flywheel inertia.

Look at the bright side, you won't be chomping at the bit to sell your current bike to buy this POS.

Racers who will be competing on the new 10R, for one. The added flywheel mass will tame the power pulses enough so that the tire won't spin as easily coming off corners, thus leading to a better drive down the straights (it will also help them avoid suffering what your forum name describes...). Welcome to the world of increasingly specialized sportbikes.
Regardless, it's not like they're going to add a 10 lb. flywheel to the crankshaft or anything like that. It's very doubtful that the most riders will notice the difference.

Judging by the adspeak, I'm thinking they've junked the circular LCD bar graph tach in favor of a conventional analog unit.

i like the bike with the exception of 2 things.  the exposed exhaust on the bottom, cutting out the plastics. and the labling, Ninja 1000.... I prefer the Ninja ZX-10R badging....

I have to agree with hiside.  That is deffinitely one oddball looking bike.  The exhaust does it int.  if the pipes were together like my R1 then it might look alright.  Just for looks it is not the greatest.

It looks pretty good. I am just not a fan of integrated turn signals.
I have a ZX6E. Those lenses are expensive.
I also like the ZX10 lettering better!!
Flywhell heavier or not. I have rode an 05......Still would be a beast most could not ride to potential

The front is OK, kinda looks like R7 headlights. The exhaust is horrible. The swingarm looks sturdier. I don't like undertail exhausts in general, but that's even worse. The '04 style (semi-high mount) was awsome.

i agree with bill. the headlights are nice. deffinatly r7 looks. but the exhaust is ugly. too big and a too far spread from eachother. ill have to wait to see if the aftermarket exhausts will clean it up. but id deffinatly take an 06 zx10. also i agrea i like the zx10r badging over 1000

I am definitely keeping my '05.  I've never been one to chase a couple hp, and a few less pounds....

The stearing dampner is a plus.  But I haven't found the need for one yet.  And I like the idea of being able to buy the make or style that I want.

Am I the only one that thinks the exhaust looks like Honda's 919?

The Honda 919's exhaust looks way better! But I am biased because i have one.

And i think the new zx-10r is a step back in styling at least, it better have way better performance than the 04-05 to keep me dreaming about it night and day like the current one.  I do like the new tach though and i like the "1000" badging, i dont know why prolly because it is a 1000 and not a 10 but what do i know.

lol you like the 1000 cause your a honda rider. i think the zx10r badging set apart. with the 1000 on it it just looks like every other litre bike except the r1. the 10 sets it apart like the 1 does the r1
