Hey whats up guys, just wondering here what your thoughts are on downshifting and upshifting while your in a turn? For instance, I'll be on the highway and when im coming around a turn, I'm wondering if I upshift or downshift will that make my rear tire jump or slide out maybe? I know I have done it before in certain instances and didnt wipe out but is there a general rule to this? I know to never brake and eneter the turn at the correct speed and bla bla bla but is shifting in a turn something thats normal or for track racing or both?? Appreciate any feedback!!

If you're smooth, it can be done. If not smooth, then... don't do it.
Watch GP racing and you can see some riders banging out backshifts even as they are turning in. In the FASTER and FASTER DVD, there is on camera footage of Rossi's hand blipping the throttle twice while trail braking... his knee touches down a split second later.

I do it all the time. In the photo below I'm exiting a corner and banging up to 4th gear. I wouldn't change gears while fully keeled over but I've no qualms about changing gears at any other time during a corner.

I do it occasionally. You have to be real smooth and match revs. Don't try it by jumping in the deep end, take it slow. I really don't know what advise to give, you just kinda know when you can do it.
