How much faster(acceleration)lets say to 60mph is a 600cc like a R6 compared to a yz250 2 stroke dirtbike? I noticed that the R6 make a little over a 100hp at 357lbs dry weight and the yz makes little under 60hp at 211lbs dry weight. That are your guys thoughts on this?

Is that 60hp at the wheel?
Is the YZ still in the dirt and on knobby tires?
Riders the same weight?

Speaking of weight....  You do know that the manufactureers listed weights are very dry.  As in no water/liquid anywhere....  I think an R6 weighs about 427 lbs with a full tank of gas according to the mags.  I am not sure about the YZ.

My money is on the R6.  1st gear, sticky tires.  Just need a rider who has some practice with drag strip style launches.  I think the new 600s get from 0 to 60 in about 3.2 seconds give or take a tenth...  I don't know if anyone has timed a dirt bike...

I never pay attention to any 0-60 times for sportbikes.  Every 600 will do 60mph in first gear.  So much of a 0-60 time will depend on how hard you want to launch the bike.  It's kind of like asking which is faster 0-30 a Viper or Corvette.  Cars with that kind of hp have traction problems and the 0-30 time will depend on how well the driver deals with it.  With sportbikes they have a wheely problem and their 0-60 depends greatly on how the RIDER manages that.

As for your specific scenario, I have no idea...but maybe theres a test out there where the included a supermoto against a sportbike or two and they might have some acceleration figures for you.

Sorry about the dumb post guys. Just wanted to know because I think I'm gonna buy a R6 or a zx6. I have a yz 250 dirtbike and just was wondering. I know the R6 is faster but that was the only thing that I'm use to riding and could compare to.

It's not a dumbpost if you didn't have any sportbike to compare it to.  It's hard to explain the acceleration.  The first day I brought my '01 YZF600R I remember tooling around on it in a school parking lot near my house just getting the hang out it.  I only got to 7,000 rpms (redline 13,200) and I thought the bike was FLYING!  Previously all I had ridden was the small cruisers in the MSF course.
