I recently moved to Germany and am looking for the perfect bike.  In the States I did not find the need to venture futher than my 02 R6, but now I have access the Alps, wonderfully curvy and hilly roads, and let us not forget THE AUTOBAHN.  Any suggestions will help.

I, of course, recommend the ZX-12R.

See the June issue of "Performance Bikes".

Hallo! Ah sie geht Deutchland.ich sprict man deutch, und du?
--  Sie fahrt um die Autobahn mit ein motorrad.  I know my german is very rusty.  Nicht Schessa, nich schessa.!!  Ha HA.  I would get a Busa or 12R to show those Krauts and their duc what *** bikes are made of  "Chang dong witshe--fried rice" .  Just watch for dummies pulling out of the far right lane while trying to pass a slower vehicle and then you rear ending them at 180 mph. Ever heard that story about the Enzo.--A car was passing a truck.  It was in the middle of the truck and another car.  Apperently the person in the car didn't bother to check behind them good enough and pulled out infront of a Fararie(or however you spell that damn italian name) Enzo that was doing the upper end of tripple digits and got rear ended.  You should have seen the picture of the enzo--it was in an issue of motortrend about a year ago.  "I've seen alot of crazy [censored] in my life, but that was awesome!"---Black Sheep-Chris Farley.

I realy don't want to bite off more than I can chew.  You don't think that a Busa or the 12R is too big a step. I've been riding for 10 years, but have tried not to drive beyond my skills.  So far so good!   Would like to get some track days under my belt, but I don't know where to start here in Germany.

YA Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch, but I still have a hard time reading it.   I learned my autobahn lesson a few years back. I was going about 150 mph passing a LKW (tractor trailer) when a VW polo tried to pull out in front of me, he cliped my front right fender sent me into a spin till my tires blew and I fliped 6 times.  Thank God for seat belts air bags.  Completely destroyed my BMW M5.    Safety before speed!!!

If you liked the 600, get another one.  They are plenty fast.  But if you find that you will hit the Autobahn a lot, you might want a bike like a 12R, 'Busa, 10R, etc. that doesn't have to work too hard to run 150+ all day.    Maybe step up to a 750.

Not sure where you are in Germany; I was stationed at Graf and Bamberg.  Not trying to sound weak but I have had too many of those trucks pull into the left lane doing 80kph when I was doing 200kph.  Worst part is you slow down faster than Porsche 5 seconds behind you.  Bottom line is there are plenty of nice back roads that you can really enjoy on a 600.

BMW K1200S... blasting on the autobahn, banging out of the corners, and still a very capable tourer.

As a swiss resident, whatever you choose, there are enough roads to suit your biking style...
