how good is the hayabusa?

im looking to get a bike and im at a point where i've narrowed it down to either a Aprilia Mille Factory R or a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300R Limited(2005) if anybody knows which one is the better bike for someone who likes speed AND control please let me know but e-mail me cuz im not sure how often im gonna check this e-mail me at greedynicecold@hotmail.com

These bikes are fairly apples and oranges different.
Do you want a Italian sporting v-twin or do you want a Japanese inline-four two-wheeled sled? Agility and handling or raw speed and power? A bit of exclusivity or street cred and bling?
It does bear mentioning that neither bike is a good novice rider's bike. An experienced rider would probably not have a problem choosing between bikes as disparate as these.

Yes, both are horrible first bikes. Get a used cheap SV650 to learn on for a year, THEN get something you lust after.

ok first off i better put this out there im not a "NEW" rider legally yes illegally no i've been riding for bout 2-3 years so i KNOW how to control a powerful bike cuz my first bike i rode was a ZX-9R so i know how to ride i just dont know much about the Aprilia at least not as much as i do about the hayabusa so i wanted to see if anyone KNEW which was better

I think you originally asked about handling and such. The Aprilia is a much better handling bike with top-shelf suspension and other components. It definitely has more character than the 'Busa. The 'Busa is pretty much a straight line bike...plus, there are a ton of them out there. If you're gonna shell out that kind of money, I would definitely get the Aprilia. In my opinion, 'Busas are only worth it if you bolt on a turbo and stretch the swingarm, cuz not you're not really tearing up any corners on that sucker. Plus the v-twin on the Aprilia sounds freakin' sweet. Just be careful, bud.

If you truely want speed AND control, got a new litre bike, like a 1000 Gixxer, ZX10, or R1. They're all capable of WHOA-FCUK speeds, but won't break the bank when you drop them, and you WILL drop them. If you want mind bending speed with decent control, get a ZX12R. I'd put my 12R against a Busa any day for a top speed run and probably leave them behind in the twisty bits. With a few small mods, you can have a bike that will outrun many other bikes, yet doesn't shy away from twisties too bad either. Once you get into performance in the neighbourhood of the modern litre and litre-plus class bikes, it's more about the rider than the machine.

You are for sure an ORGAN DONER!"MORAN" All of you stupid people want to go out and Buy the fastest bikes not knowing how to ride! You buy the bike that has the largest displacement,crome it out and add 30 pounds of weight, drop it till its about an inch from the ground,add neon lights and then say that dropping it 4 inchs makes the bike perform better on the street! Your that guy who would pull up next to me at a light follow me into a fast tight corner at 75 try to keep up and fly off the road. What Bike should you buy ..........Nither Stick to your dropped Honda Civic or Cadalac with the 20 inch rims with NOS and let the real lovers of the sport be.

Ouch man! I agree with the spirit of the comment but it's always better to show someone 'the true path' than drive them away from the sport. I know, I know...pot calling the kettle..yada, yada, yada. Frankly, I'm not sure what anyone needs a bike like the 'busa for anyway. The Aprilia is also a bit of a tank compared to it's competition. It is relatively affordable exotica though.

The people who have a true love for the sport don't need to be shown the path they just know the way. Its something we have always lusted after,its in our blood. These other people just want to "bling bling" out there bikes, not really knowing how to use them and how get the most out of them. No they just want to tell there friends that they have the newest fastest thing on the road. No, there the ones that make our industry look bad. They are the one you hear about on the six o clock news......There was another fatal motorcycle accident today ......A car and motorcycle were drag racing at an extream high rate of speed,when the bike flew through an intersection and slamed into a minivan killing himself and a family of four.....Oh and by the way he was not wearing a helmet because he wanted to look cool.....There the reason why WASHINGTON wants to ban sport bikes or cap there displacement.Sport bikes arn't the problem its the morans riding them.

Let me ask you this. What were your criteria for narrowing down your search to the Aprillia or the Busa?

Zane: First of all its spelt "Moron". Second, what exactly is your problem?!?! Do you surf the message boards looking for people that don't have exactly your opinion and tear them down?? The man has a question... if you don't like the question... DON'T ANSWER IT! Many different people like different things, he isn't endangering you...
Also, if I was you:
I would buy the Busa, put thirty pounds of chrome on it and lower it 4 inches, then I would tow it behind my caddilac with 20's on it....
