Could it be true? Yamaha coming out with an all new R1 while Honda and Kawi revamp their respective 1000's. What more can Kawi do to the 10r....maybe suspension and a steering dampner? Do they dare give it more power to be the dyno king over the K5 GSXR? The R1 is by far the sexiest 1000, could they be rethinking the engine to get that torque up with better midrange hp? Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my *** Honda will probably drop fat of the 1000RR like they did with the 600.
I hope this is more than speculation even though the machines are so great right now they need no more. Although being a speed junkie more never hurts!

I believe all 3 will get tweaks or maybe even a redesign for '06. Remember Kawi's last generation of ZX6R only lasted two years, 2003 and 2004 before they came out with a totally revamped version...and they don't have as much money to throw around as Yamaha or Honda. Of the 3 I'd have to bet on Kawi to have the biggest changes, not that it needs them but just Kawi seems like a wildcard right now...not sure what they're going to do. I think Honda will do like many have suggest, the same thing they did with the 600RR. Chop of some lbs, add a couple ponies and ever so slightly tweak the styling. I bet Yamaha doesn't change much, its still easily the best looking bike among the bunch in most peoples opinions...and that sells a lot of bikes. I'd bet they tweak the engine here and there but nothing major, they might not even mess with the styling. Like others have suggested they might do "champions editions" or some other kind of limited edition models, possible even with Ohlins suspension pieces. All 4 definately seem to be commited to updates, revamps or tweaking every 2 years though, so WHO knows what any of them are capable of.

I'm sure there will be changes to those three bikes next year and I am absolutely sure that Suzuki will revamp the GSXR 600 because it's not even competitive in Supersport and quite possibly Yamaha will touch up the R6.

I agree, the GSXR 600 is a little long in tooth. I'm sure they will totally revamp the 600 similar to what was done with the 1000--meaning a kick arse middleweight that will finally be competitive again with the ZX6R and R6. I cannot wait to see what the manufacturers are going to make next!

I'm probably the only one on here whos curious about what Buell will announce at their dealership show, I believe the third week of July. Pretty strong rumors that theres going to be something new. Sounds like if you had to bet money on it that you'd have to guess something along the lines of an XB based sport tourer...although something completely different is a possibility too. We won't know anything from Honda/Kawi/Suzuki/Yamaha until late August or September.

Like I said, I'm probably the only one on here. Now which one of you guys are racing your spec sheets tonight?

I would be glad to hear of something new from Buell. I think the Lightning and Firebolt are great looking bikes with "soul". Yes the engine lacks compared to anything else but is advanced for an H.D. lump. Plus all that torque and the sound that eminates from the racing exhaust is ssswwweeeettttt.
An all new engine XBR/XBS, something close to KTM's LC8 would be nice but I don't know if Harley will invest that much into Buell developement. A sport tourer would be great too. Maybe they will take some things learned from racing formula extreme and develope it into the production bike?!

I would love to see something actually new from Buell and that doesnt mean a new frame\style to put that lump of an engine in. I can talk bad because I owned one. Buell's are great bikes besides that engine. The engine is even great if you dont want to go over 80mph

I had a stock XB9S do 90mph on demo day test ride, no problem.... Ofcourse theres better bike options out there if you want to do a lot of 90mph runs or cruise at high speeds but it's not like a Buell can't do it.

Also' I've read rumors about Triumph working on a 650cc triple to replace the current Daytona. Has any one else seen or heard this? I'm not sure why they would nock one cylinder off at the same cc unless they wanted to identify it more more directly with their popular triple engines in the Speed Tripple, 955i, and Sprint.

I think they do want to knock one cylinder off to get give the bike more "Triumph character." I've heard the rumor too, I think it's a pretty popular one. Most people are saying 675-680cc. I think people were saying 680cc triples would be eligable to race supersport against 750 v-twin and 600 inline fours. It'd be nice to see Triumph put the new stroked 1050cc triple from the Speed Triple into a Daytona chassis and give the motor a "daytona tune" for a little more hp.
MotoGP 800cc for '07 It'd be super sweet if Honda would put a RC211V based motor into a production street bike, since they won't be using is in MotoGP after next year. Not that they'd put thousands of RC211V motors lying around into street bike but since theres a MotoGP rule (right?) about how the engines can't be "production" engines or something like that? Now I'm not saying they just transplant the MotoGP motor straight into a street bike chassis. Obviously that motor cost a pretty penny to manufactor, but if they could somehow make a RC211V based V-5 for a production street motorcycle, THAT would just be awesome. Even if it was some kind of a cross between a Interceptor and a Blackbird, although preferrably some thing more along the lines of a RC51 and a 1000RR.

The 'Rumor mill' says:
Honda pressured Dorna Sports for the rule change to 800 cc.
Because Rossi and Yamaha are winning Honda is not.
And
Honda already has in development a 800 cc platform.
And
Honda has been testing a V-5 based CBR-?1100? xx Black Bird.
