hello everyone!!!
I am in need of some serious help from someone. Trevitt I hope your reading because this is an old school question and you have access to all pertinent info about this.  Here goes..... I have a 94 GSXR1100 that I put into a 95 GSXR750 frame. No problem. However I also had a problem with second gear so I put the six speed out of the 750 in the 1100 cases. It fits with no trouble but the 1100 clutch will not work because the input shaft on the tranny is not long enough and the 750 clutch will not work because the diameter of the basket is too big and hits the #4 rod cap bolt as it spins on the crankshaft. I spoke with Doug from yoshimura who spoke with one of the guys from the race team and he said that there was a company called "Dechello" that used to make a kit but I have done every internet search I can and can't seem to find them. I have checked every old magazine I can find and tried to call Carry Andrews from Hypercycle but have not received a call back yet(they are most likely off racing somewhere) I have also spoken with Hahn Racecraft who directed me elswhere but they did not have the answer either. I have also spoken with several other race shops and nobody seems to be able to help. I think Carry can give me the answer but am getting very impatient.  In the UFO comparision from 95 Carry put a 600 Katana clutch in his bike and I think that might do the trick but before I spend the money to go buy one I want to know for sure. My bike is 100% done except for a clutch and I am really jonesing to ride. PLEASE someone help me. Thank you in advance. AJ Van Harn, II

P.S. you can reach me personally @ vanharn@charter.net or on my cell @ 616-299-2376   BY the way Trevitt I am sending you a picture to the sport rider e-mail of the bike. People have lost where we came from and how we got here. Once I get the bike together you are welcome to come ride it. I have also done a bunch of other mods.

From what I can find, the difference is that one bike has the diaphragm spring, the other has coil springs, and that is why the input shaft is longer on one. Check here for info:

oldskoolsuzuki.info

They have a forum too, and someone there can probably help you out.

APE (www.aperaceparts.com) has a clutch conversion kit, which changes the diaphragm type to coil-spring type. You may be able to make that work, or you could talk to them and see what they suggest.

Your cheapest and easiest solution may be to fix your 1100 tranny.

Thanks AT, I found the oldskoolsuzuki web site before I sent this actually but went back and found the conversion kit you can make with stock suzuki parts for $80.00 from the dealer and ordered those parts it is an inner basket a pressure plate and one extra friction disk  a spacer and some springs but that is for the 5 spd with the longer shaft so I did not order the spacer and I have hd springs and other parts so I just ordered the basket pressure plate and friction disc. I am also converting to cable so that may cause more issues either way I will let you know how it turns out. I also spoke with Carry Andrews from hypercycle and he seems to think that it will all work but thinks it was a waste of time to begin with because the 6 speed will not take the abuse. But I told him that Fast by Gast back cut and heat treated the whole box and he said it may be ok. the only way to find out is to use it and see. Again thanks for the input. By the way the APE kit is $160.00

Hello,
Well I put the parts in that I ordered and the clutch cover would not fit(it's not as deep as the 1100 unit) so I had to use the spacer for a lock up kit in there then the pull shaft for the clutch was not long enough so i cut it and welded an extension in it and everything seems to be working ok. I will let you know how it all turns out but like I said so far it is all good. Now I can start riding again and get the chassis all sorted. Thanks again for your help.
